Can’t Get Away? No Worries – We’ll Add Some Spring to Your Step!

It may be cold outside, but spring’s sprouting up all over St Laurent Centre!

We’re in the final stretch of Ottawa’s bitter winter, and in case you’re like us and can’t get away this month, we’ve come up with a strategy that I think will have you singing another tune! And what’s our strategy? Why shopping for spring staples of course! Pieces you can wear now and later! Here’s are my Top 8 that you can’t ignore!

st laurent spring staples 2014

Le Chateau Nude Ankle Strap Stiletto $39.95 – Ankle straps are everywhere for spring (and I’ve already been living in mine all winter) so I say snatch this pair up ASAP – why? Well other than the fact that they’ll go with everything in your closet, they’re also only $39.95!!!!!!! Nuff said.

Fossil Sydney Top Zip Bag from The Hudson Bay Company $158 – Mint is back baby, and I’m allll over it. Especially in a fabulous crossbody like this. Structured, yet lady-like, this beauty is sure to add spring to your dated winter look.

Joe Fresh Chambray Shirt $24 – denim is back for spring in a light wash, to die for button-up. Layer it or leave it be, this is a staple that won’t be around for long once the temps spike!

Jessica Simpson Calkins from The Hudson Bay Company $120 – Lucite in footwear is all the rage this spring. Sleek and sexy, these can be worn now with tights, and later with all skin baby! Available in black and nude, I’d probably suggest buying both…

Le Chateau Two-Toned Clutch $49.95 – Citrus is another bold colour that’s springing up everywhere this month. I personally love it with nude accents and gold hardware; gives it a unique edge and luxurious feel! Will look great now with black skinnies and a sweater, and better later with shorts and a simple tee!

Neutral Stone Statement Necklace BCBGMAXAZRIA $168 – Throw this on with a sleek black turtleneck for now, and put that little white tee of yours on stand-by. This naturally elegant necklace will update any look, winter or spring, in an instant!

Joe Fresh Grey Skinny Jean $19 – Grey is the perfect neutral because it’s a four season colour. It doesn’t hold the harshness of black, while at the same time not offering the starkness of white – it’s what I like to call, the middle ground. And we as stylists love middle ground – more to work off of! Which is why this is a top pick for me to wear now, and later!

BCBGMAXAZRIA Acotas Striped Sweater $228 – Stripes are synonymous with spring, which is why I chose this black and white open cardi for one of my must-haves. It’s the perfect laying tool for winter weather, and an essential go-to outerwear piece for summer!

… and because I couldn’t resist: BCBGMAXAZRIA Renee Cat Eye Sunglasses $85 – These bold beauties are another four-season gem. And perhaps by wearing them daily as we lead into March, we might bring along the warmer weather?! Here’s to seeing the brighter side (pun intended) of winter!
